Cheap cheasy deaths?
Does anyone find themselves dying in a way that shouldn't have happened?? I quit playing this game because of the cheap deaths.

What do you mean, like a giant block of cheese runs you over or something? And a cheap brand of cheese to boot??

LOL! No, like falling off something and getting stuck behind a vehicle, while 15 enemies are killing you. Remember, only so many bullets before a reload or battery.

I wouldn't call them "cheap". Every game has made me look at the screen and say, "Well THAT wasn't cheating AT ALL" (talking of something in the game that killed me quick), lol. But for the most part, Alan Wake typically gives you more than enough tools with which to avoid being killed, you just have to (remember to) use them. My first couple of playthroughs, I was real frugal with my batteries. For some dumb reason, I never used them. While I did get by without them for the most part, there was really no reason to horde them as I was doing. I was kinda the same way with flares, and sometimes I died specifically because I hesitated to use what I knew I had plenty of.

Hah, I was just kiddin' man. But, yeah, I pretty much agree with what Vic said.

Yeah I got stuck in a situation were I used all my flares and flashlight batteries running from safe point to safe point..Ran out of batteries...died, found a card...got in the car...Car drove really strange and clunky...died.... Also Alan will continue to walk after I release the w key on my keyboard causing him to walk right of a bridge 4 times in a row...I don't know maybe the controls would be better if I used my 360 controller. But then again, why did I buy my new razor 6,500 dpi death adder mouse, if I can't use it?

How do I use flash bangs? I have several of those now were I last saved but I am almost out of ammo and batteries.

I think it's 5>middle mouse button click. At least that's how it was for me.

Are you headed to the radio station by any chance? If so (and if I'm not too late), note that you can return to this area (between the wooden bridge and the station) after reaching the Safe Haven and seeing your objective change to "Talk to Pat Maine", and there will be no enemies. It's helpful because there is a hidden chest and a manuscript in the area you're likely to miss on that mad dash through the area.

I can't tell you how many times i've died trying to do the "complete episode without dying" achievements, half the time it's me blinding myself with a flare and taking a step wrong and falling off a cliff. I can laugh now, but i've never been so close to throwing my keyboard through the window lol

Right on, the only thing i can really do about it is laugh. And yes I am near the radio station vic! :) Thanks for letting me know.

Yeah, that whole section is a major pain in the donkey :P I would say it's one of the top three areas I absolutely dread going through when I play the game over (Yes, I play the game over every now and then, because I really like this game!) But then, that is part of the point, to get your blood pumping!

Fun fact: Believe it or not, it is actually possible to kill all the Taken there with just the flashbangs (i.e., they will eventually stop spawning), but it isn't recommended to hang around kinda sorta wasting your ammo.

Yeah I like the game, but I find myself getting stuck at times or dying from something that reminds me of pitfall on android.

Just hit episode 3 and haven't experiences anything I would consider "cheap," yet.

What I recommend is don't be afraid of using the items you have. They give you ammo and batteries in abudance. Don't do what I did and rarely use them. I was playing on Hard and I was always thinking like "Damn they gave me so much stuff now I probably won't see more ammo for some time" but nope, totally wrong, use them freely because they make sure you're constantly supplied.
