Alan Wake Won't LAUNCH ON WINDOWS 10

So weird, I was playing this game just a few weeks ago. Tried to start it up the past few days and it won't launch at all. It says running, in the steam app for 3 seconds before nothing happens. I've verified the cache, reinstalled DX9, deleted and redownloaded the game 3 times and nothing has worked? Has anyone had this problem and got it working or anyone having this problem right now? PC Specs, AMD 8350, 8GB RAM, GTX 970

I wish I could help ya. I haven't tried it in Win10 yet to be honest. However, this is why I dual boot my HDDs. Best thing you'll ever learn as a pc gamer. Hands down.

I didn't upgrade from windows 7, had windows 8 and I'm already past the 30 day return period by a year.

I have same GPU and CPU as you and running win 10, having zero issues so it's nothing to do with that, only thing I could recommend is verifying game cache. Not enough info to say anything else

Thanks man, yeah I've actually already done that. Pretty weird it just stopped launching out of no where. I'll have to try and figure it out.

Hey guy's thanks for trying to help my retarded self out. It was a windows firewall allow app on private server box that was unchecked. I guess it happens to the best of us lol.

I've buyed the Game Yesterday. I'ts all Runing fine on Win 10 Pro x64 (with newest Update).

I know this is old but found way. In the game folder at the top was a folder for american nightmare I just deleted it. Now the game works fine.

Nice, yeah I solved this a while back. I had my firewall set to only allow games on a public server, while my wifi was set on public. But Alan Wake was checked to run on private only while launching. So I literally just had to click the private bubble and it fixed the problem. User error and not software related to the game.
