Heya guys,

Problem has been un-fixed. Please check here for the solution:

Or, if you know how, just replace your info.plist file with this one: https://www.dropbox.com/s/8mjaaaw41fjd4lr/Info.plist

Build 20 works fine on my MacBook Pro (2008 model). Played for about half an hour before posting here.

Thanks for the feedback Vzzdak!

I have only ever played on my macbook pro (2011) on Lion, and for the most part it has been fine. There's some texture corruption sometimes on loading screens, and crash on exit, but gameplay is absolutely fine.

Thanks Medains, that's what I like to hear! The texture corruption on loads is something that should be (at least mostly) fixed now, except for a brief flicker. Was due to part of the old rendering engine being loaded right at startup if I recall correctly.

I am on OSX 10.9 currently, with my Mid 2012 15in Retina Macbook Pro. (Can provide specs if needed)

I have had the same bug with both the public build and the test build (The one that required the code from the forums. The reason I tried the test build was to see if it fixed the bug.)

Basically what has been happening for me is that when I start the game both normally or in compatibillity mode, I just get a black screen, and the steam tab thing comes up in the corner. If I leave it long enough the menu music plays. The way I have had to play since I transfered game to steam (I was one of the google checkout cool kids who got the game waaaay early on), is that I open the game over and over again till it crashes. Once it crashes, if I click re open the game runs fine and I haven't had any issues in game as of yet. This can take around 20 times of opening and closing until it works for me. Also, whenever I click reopen, the game works 100% of the time from there, i.e. I don't get the same error as running it normally. The game also never runs normally, so I MUST wait for it to crash so I can play it.

I hope this helps out, and this problem will be resolved in a future build. If you need any more info such as specs, crash report or anything, just let me know.

Cheers,

Mirkea

Mirkea can you do me a favor and turn off the Steam community overlay in the game's properties (right click it in the Steam Library list) and tell me if this sorts your issues? Cheers!

The same happens for me. I played it yesterday, and also played for like 30 minutes today. But then i closed it, and now it won't even launch.

Hey Rathlord,

I tried disabling the steam overlay both for all games and exclusively for Project Zomboid. In both instances the game window would not show up, but I do know that the game is launching because my profile icon thingy goes green, but then becomes blue again. So I am assuming the game is crashing? The normal crash report doesn't come up either, which is weird so I can't use the 'reopen trick' I have been using to date.

Is there anything else I can try, or any other information I can give you?

Thanks for your time,

Mirkea

i have OSX 10.6.8 and ive validated game files tried everything and it wont even open is it some sort of bug?
Rathlord Dec 19, 2013 @ 3:42pm
Mirkea you appear to have a separate issue from the others. I can help you best if you start a separate thread about it (preferably on the PZ forums, but if not here is fine, too).

For everyone else, can you try the steps I posted in my last post here: http://theindiestone.com/forums/index.php/topic/4289-game-wont-launch-mac/?p=58059

I'm not sure if that's going to solve it, but it's my best guess at this point.
