Beta Branch Release: 17 (0014)
Warning: Trying the beta we cannot guarantee the safety of your saves. If in doubt, back up your C:\Users\<Username>\Zomboid directory.

To try this beta build, go into your game's properties in Steam, click the Beta tab and select 'beta' from the dropdown list. This should enable a download (may need to restart Steam).

    [BUG FIX]
  • The weak trait will now reduce your max capacity.
  • Fixed the weird lighting in the church.
  • Fixed the brown wooden stairs textures in carpentry menu.
  • Fixed some bugged walls (where you could loot through them).
  • Craft food from rotten ingredients will give you a rotten food as result.
  • Now save the unhappy and boredom level.
  • The Anti-depressants now reduce the unhappyness (effect is not immediate, it take some time).
  • Fixed lighting issues / holes in world draw errors.
  • If you click outside the delete save modal dialog in the world selector, it'll disapear.
  • Fixed the fire saving/load bug.
  • Fixed a bucket/garden spray can duplication bug.
  • Less PCs should get black screen bug (likely not obliterated completely though, hopefully in next one)

    [PERFORMANCE]

  • Fixed memory leak causing out of memory errors on some systems.
  • Performance changes / improvements (no promises, including the demo, with the numbers we're talking chances are it'll take a few to get most of them sorted)
  • Tweaked the camping code to make it much more efficient.

    [NEW STUFF]

  • Added inventory icon for berries bush.
  • Added various tooltip (pills, ...), to help the new players.
  • New items ! (include lovely spiffo burger!).
  • New recipes : Box of things, explaination : You can now find box of nails (you also have screws, bullets...), right click on it and select "open" will give you 100 nails AND if you have 100 nails, you can also right click on it and "put in a box" to move them around easily.

    [BALANCE]

  • When you make an item, we set the condition of the result item with an average of the used items condition, and not just the lowest condition.
  • Tweaked the number of berries in a bush.
  • You'll now have much more chance to find stuff (including axes and hammer) in the West Point toolstore (in front of the sea horse coffee).
  • Time to start a fire in a oven increased.
  • Tweaked a bit the fire spreading (it spread more... "The roof is on fire, we don't need no water let the..." Erm.)

    [MODDERS]

  • Now load "Item_...png" instead of "item_...png" in the mod loader.
  • The mod directory can now be different of the mod ID for the mod loader.
  • New event : "OnFillContainer" // Every time we fill a new container with item, param : room name, container type name, the container just filled
  • New event : OnChangeWeather // Every time we change the weather, triggered in lua, param : the new weather (string).

    [TRANSLATIONS]

  • Updated translation : Russian, French and Polish.

I have a quick question? Are you guys focussing on having coop or multiplayer or working on NPCs or just going along as you work?

We're working on performance and stability / bug fixes until the game makes an undeniable good impression to the majority of people who try the demo. Until then working on anything else would just be damaging.

As soon as we get there, hopefully only in a few hotfix patches, we'll start full force on the cooler stuff.

Ok thanks and BTW other than a few lag spikes and crashes YOUR GAME IS AMAZING AND VERY VERY ADDICTING. Thank you for your time and i have one minor bug it dosent happen often but happened and i think you should know the inventory got stuck on my mouse pointer and i couldnt do anything but exit out of the game. Other than this thank you for this awesome game and im happy to help with the early beta!

Demo left a good impression on me, though it made me think I should leave a baseball bat in my bedroom incase anything happens. As a gift to whoever will be looting my house in the zombie apocalypse hahaha

May I ask a question? I really love your game, it runs perfectly on safe mode. When you are done the tuning of the demo, and such, are you planning on adding cars, like fuel and parts?

I think i remember them talking about this yes they want to add cars as for car parts im not sure

Hooray for fixes!! Like many others my game runs less stable then it did a while back. I love you guys for working so hard to fix them issues.

The game rocks. Other than occasionally crash-quitting when I go to quit, its pretty much flawless on Mac OS X Mavericks. One minor bug regarding the inventory sometimes not moving objects around when I tell it, but there's a work around (select another object, go back to the one that couldn't move, should move then).

Can't wait to see more.

The lighting issue seems to be a major problem.
Someyimes its hard to tell if the lighting in a room is on or off
then later you attract zombies because it was on.

And i dont know if you're already on to this but one of the houses near the starting house
in West Point - the kitchen light is way high up on the wall and it takes a lot of clicks to
activate it.

Solo, this is just a announcment letting you know what they've got in the works. When it releases, steam'll autoupdate your build. If you want to live on the bleeding edge, you can sign up to the beta, but they break that build from time to time, so don't expect it to always work.
