Is this game any good?
The 2nd one looks interesting. But the meta score for this one is 46/100???? Why is it so low? I kind of want to buy it based off of the screenshots and the trailer but the score is so low....

When I bought the second one it came with the first one. I had a good time playing Starpoint Gemini 1, which was a lot like Starfleet Command. It was very relaxing. It has a lot of funny quirks like the captain repeating meaningless threats periodically even when you are shooting at a cargo container. It's like old rts games in that sense, but of course you only can have one ship at a time. I eventually got bored of it because it doesn't take that long to get a dreadnaught and why would you want anything else. The incentive to keep playing wasnt there after a while. I haven't gotten the initiative to play the second game because it isn't finished and they are taking their time about it. It seems like more of a hastle because in the second game you can move all over the place and the controlls seem more complicated and not in a good way. I could play part 1 while having a drink at the same time. Unfortunately with the devs focusing 100% on SPG2 you can expect no support on this game. I don't even think they read this forum.

Ah, ok. I guess I'll pass on this one. Thanks

this game might have good concepts but I don't know if I will get that far. there are a few little stupid things like how the first space station has transparent textures so you can actually see through what should be solid objects, I havent even finished the tutorial yet, might be a casual fun game, if i get really bored i may revisit, hopefully the second one is made better, not sure if I will bother to find out, other Iceberg games seem to also be poorly made and then abandoned.

Like Strafleet Command...must have missed something. So far, nothing is like Starfleet Command for me.

Mostly its like SFC 3, simplified SFC to a point where it losses the value. Also how the play field is designs is very SFC, 3D models on a 2D plane. THats where i would see the connection. But god i wish SFC was on steam.

This is a nice game, but a little outdated now. There is a full Star Trek conversion mod for it though. :)

Low rating is there because people tend to compare games with different budgets... This game is excellent if you know with how much money it was made. Same as El Mariachi / Desperado. Desperado is a better movie, but El Mariachi still has its charm...

Budget doesnt matter in GAMEPLAY because if it did then how come we are were we are? As in Pong for example. There are great ganes that had low budget and VERY expensive games to make that are utter garbage.
