Mouse bug or isolated case?
Since the day I first played to spanning the many other days I've played this game, everytime I play I experience an issue with the mouse from time to time:

It stops firing. Even though I am holding the left-click down, the ball will fire until it stops. When I realize this I let go of the mouse button, then hold it back down again, and the ball begins to fire again. This is frustrating when I'm on a roll and all of a sudden the ball stops firing and the yellow balls use that moment to swoop in and slaughter me, or I just run into something I should have killed, but didn't because my ball stopped firing...

I first thought it was my own mouse, or a mouse connection. But, first off, my current mouse never experiences this in other games where I simply hold down the left-click the entire time (playing Nation Red with any automatic weapon). Secondly, I've tested a second mouse with this game and other games and the same issue occurs with Waves, but not with other games. I've hooked up these two mice on 3 different usb ports. Same thing.

I dig this game (I love arena shooters), but the more this happens to me, the more I don't want to play this game anymore.

So, I post here to gain some info on this, preferrably, a solution.

Thanks.

Probably not the most ideal solution but you could try a controller, xbox 360 controller works really well for the game. This game is under the "Twin Stick" shooter catagory so it plays nicely on a gamepad.

I rarely use gamepads, but I'll give it a try. Thx.
