Aww yeah, we could use some underground structures! They're possible, just hard to implement for a fair amount of modders. Below-ground warfare would be pretty cool, especially in sewers and dodgy metro stations.
I made a couple of custom missions like that. One is a large sewer based mission.
I like the Idea, I just think any interior combat/CQ is lacking due to the way the AI is developed. Ive never really had an immersive experience in CQ PVE due to the way the AI works.
Therefore, the AI should behave more "tactically" if they're given the body armor to match. It's fair to remember too that the AI in SWAT 4 was almost always defensive in nature and only flanked when the advantageous route was clear and obvious. I've done some testing with my own AAPM Armor Overhaul for Arma III and I've found the same.
More heavily equipped AI will be substantially more aggressive in spite of their increased load weight because they are more confident that they will survive getting shot. Judging from the state of AI mods, the AI system at its core is not fully documented and so we have to run off of situational testing data such as what I have above.
I think Arma can really benefit from complex buildings and more tactically-designed areas. The AI does well indoors in my testing, it just lacks confidence.
