Is BI development team spread to thin?
I myself, see very little changing in regards to what I believe are the biggest issues facing the Arma 3 development team. Week after week goes by with the same massive issues not being addressed, while just miniscule things change..

What I do see though, is Take on Mars, and probably DayZ being too much of a focus rather than their core title?

How do you feel about this issue? Do you think enough is being done for Arma 3 and its upcoming release? Am I just smoking crack and trolling? Is there really nothing to worry about? Did they give up on Arma and feel its a snake in the grass with no real future <cough>? Do they need to wake up and smell the gun powder?

There's only so much that they can do when they have to meet an autumn/fall 2013 release date and a seeming lot of the design decisions were seemingly made really, REALLY recently (relatively speaking)... but I will say that from what I've heard, the majority of BI's devs -- like three-fifths to two-thirds -- are on Arma 3, while their other "upcoming" products (Take On Mars and DayZ standalone) are much smaller in dev team size.

From what I can see, this looks like a patched up and better optimised Arma 2. I am not seeing anything radically new here.

That being said, if it aint broke.....so I dont think they are throwing that much resource at this title.

More like "they can't afford to break it this late in the development".
Happy and I Know It!!!! Jul 8, 2013 @ 10:57am
What are these "massive issues"? Not trying to come off as a fanboy, but for a early beta I think it looking pretty damn good.

go play the sniper range on my virtual training ground... after you get spotted move down the mountain... ai has no snipers, can outsnipe you and shoot thru terrain.. thats a pretty serious issue with AI.... its been a complaint for how logn now... 3 years? but they wont touch it?

In the back of the head.... Makes ya wonder the truth..
.
seriously a beta, and it has no vehicles in it yet....
and ugh, the FPS and lag optimization issues, i guess your not reading threads of you are not hearing that...

But not my point... It just seems like they are not even addressnig certain things... and im starting to feel like, they are not treating this as a launch.. but taking the money and riding it thru past launch, which quite frankly is getting tiring..... a game should be pretty ready at launch.... thats my main complaint

You're over exaggerating when you go as far as "shoot thru terrain", they don't do that, if you think they are that's a graphics glitch. For forever, unless it's a seperately programmed AI, almost any game has had those troubles, it's just what you have to deal with when you give an unscripted computer brain control of their own, it's not as easy to make an AI pre-scripted, but not scripted at all. And on your point, that's why this is called Alpha and Beta, this isn't a launch yet, these are stages that have testing done and to fix the game for people that want a clean-cut game at the end, and as of now, from all the complaints I've been seeing from you, you need to be one of those to back off and wait until it's clean-cut.

Graphics Glitch? No its a design glitch... terrain is terrain, but now known that this is NOT TRUE in Arma Engine.... Easily seen by changing the terrain video settings from hight to low in real time.... If you see mountain... but they dont see mountain... is that a fair fight???? Its a seriious issue, one I have not encountered ever in other games.... Thanks for pointing out what must be researched... if the AI are seeing different terrain than the player... thats just F'd up

I always thought a terrain setting in games was like texture based stuff, how many layers shown etc... But clearly in Arma there is a major shift of vertex and sloping algorithms going on... so if you are in one mode and someone is in another, they are seeing two entirely different terrains and you are at a major dissadvantage as you think you can't be seen???

Lol it seems that's the only thing you read and ♥♥♥♥ed yourself over, but no it's your graphics issues most likely. I've seen no difference when changing the Terrain settings except better graphics.

obviously your a troll who belittles the person he is talking to and not worth any more time.. all this terrain issues what shown in my video.. and emphasizes the problems shown here

www.virtualinfantry.com/gallery_images/603348 where entire parts of the map are engulfed into the terrain... they may have fixed it.. i no longer carea.. arma don't have the resources to continue making a good game... they are just beating the crap out of an old technology

LOL you're making me die laughing right now Zigzag, you sound so stupid right now. I've set up the same kinds of ranges like that, on hills and curves and all, and never had the problems you're having, so it seems to be only you, and everyone is agreeing here, not with me, but with the fact that they're doing their best and it's pretty damn good, if you are capable of accepting that you have failed then you would see they've updated everything.

ugh huh, thats why its a bug tracker issue with hundreds of thumbs up...... your talking yourself into the ostrich hole and you have been ignored...
SilentSniper Aug 10, 2013 @ 11:21am
Oh, so you're admitting you're wrong? Oh ok, I agree with that. By the way, next time try linking that feedback so we can all see what has hundreds of thumbs ups? Otherwise you're just wasting time typing lies.

You posting a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ video on your unwatched Idiot channel, won't change a thing, nice description attempt though. I'm no troll, I'm just saying you're completely wrong. What about that feedback tracker issue? Can't link it? Oh, what's that, it doesn't exist?
SilentSniper Aug 10, 2013 @ 9:36pm
And by the way, I see your stupid difference, but I never have this problem and haven't seen anyone else with it, if you can run it on Ultra like you are and everything shows, what are you ♥♥♥♥ing about? Hmm?
