Stop Your Whining About Performance!
It. Is. An. ALPHA. It's not going to be perfect. But hell, it's already a helluva lot more optimized than ArmA 2 will ever be. So can your whining and go play something else if your performance is less than desireable.

I can play arma 2 at 50-60 fps on very high. Arma 3 i never see 60 so no its not lol and this is on high,Standerd even low as soon as the shooting starts im down to 20s. The game feels smoother.. sure not as clunky. More optimzied? no its the same or worse. But yes its Alpha may get better may not we will have to see.

I hear if you dont report issues they get fixed. Is that how it works? Or should we point out the issues? I forgot how this stuff works please tell me.

Smoother, better looking sure but no where near as optimized which is saying a lot considering how terrible Arma2 is optimized. Even the best systems out there aren't pulling more than 20fps in battle so yeah it needs work, granted its an alpha but these things should be complained about so BI does everything they can to make this game work without these optimization issues like Arma2 was and still is to this day.
Gaaaaay! Mar 14, 2013 @ 12:29am
arma 3 runs a hell of a lot better than arma 2. arma 2 was SO cpu heavy. arma 3 is better hitting 40fps on standard and loving it all you ♥♥♥♥♥ wanting 60fps are ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ your eyes cannot tell a difference between 40 and 60 fps.atlest mine cannot but hell i dont mind.

I'm just going to copy and paste this into every thread related to there being no performance issues or that we need to stop "whining" about them. I'm sick of these people, these thread and typing the same thing over and over to people who don't or are incapable of understanding the problem.

THIS IS AN ENGINE ISSUE, IT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THE GAME OR THE FACT THAT THE GAME IS IN ALPHA, THE TWO ARE NOT RELATED. PLEASE TRY TO UNDERSTAND THIS BEFORE MAKING A REPLY.

This engine has without a doubt the most atrocious CPU utilization of anything I can remember in recent history. Not just because the usage is low per se but more because it's a CPU dependant engine and relies on the performance of the processor FAR more than the GPU. It suffers from the same exact issue which plagued Arma 2, and why shouldn't it? It's the same engine with a facelift afterall right? It's upsetting that these developers can't even fix an issue which is nearly 4 years old..

204.6% CPU usage out of a possible 400% which puts it just above 50% total usage or 2.04 cores of total processing power on an engine which is mainly CPU dependant. As you can see my GPU's are limited to 64% usage because the game does not have enough CPU utilization available to allow the GPU's to be properly made use of. What is available as far as the engine can allocate is being consumed by other things in the engine, it's completely bottlenecked and only using 50% of the processor.

This isn't an Alpha issue, this isn't a hardware or any kind of client side issue. This is an issue with the engine due to old code which was not properly maintained over the last 12 years of engine upgrades.

Am I bashing the game? Absolutely not, I enjoy the game, however I do not enjoy that I yet again spent money on a BI product which is running at roughly 40-50% of what it should be due to lack of proper coding implementation and rudimentary issues with the engine which date back to 2009.

This is a massive problem and it needs to be corrected.

Want to prove me wrong? Give it a shot.
Replicate this with your GPU and CPU usage showing with MSI Afterburner and HWiNFO64.

Show me the lack of a bottleneck on the CPU and in result the GPU, we both know what you're going to come back with

Hey Nya, in response to whomever wrote that, they should look into something called CPU Unparking.

I wrote it and CPU unparking does absolutely nothing.

What kind of CPU do you have?

All we can do is wait. Sure will be nice when we can run this game at higher framerates. :)

Really? I'm getting over 60 FPS on ultra, the lowest I've dropped to is around 40 FPS.
