Apparently shooting with bullets at vehicles..
..Makes them explode just like in GTA. No offence, but isn't this a bit unrealistic? I just exploded due to a infantryman shooting with his rifle repeatedly at the military truck I was hiding behind.

No mods needed. It's the good ol' Arma hit points system; you can make a tank explode in A2 if you fire it with a pistol long enough...

Nope. You can make s*** blow up with just shooting at them with small caliber weapons.

That is now a partial urban myth.

Check the dev logs as some heavily armored vehicles are now completely immune from lower calibre bullets and grenades.

Hunters and ifrits and the like can still get blown up with bullets.

The point is, we still have hit points system in A3, even if it is improved from what we have in A2. My point still stands: small caliber bullets make cars blow up.

Take note of the word "partial". And you ignored that I mentioned the fact that ifrits and hunters still can get blown up as usual.
Though you mentioned blowing up a tank with bullets...im sure they altered that or at the very least made certain areas immune. I apologize for pointing that out...

Though in theory most if not every shooting game in existance has "hitpoints" so why bring it up like its a big deal for this one?

I clearly said that tanks explode in A2. It's not possible in A3. Of course you must have hit points because you must quantify everything. But you shouldn't make it this obvious...

try it in DEV, some of the penetration stuff was changed/fixed/tweaked ...

Well...it could be worse.

Much more simplistic damage systems out there.

Well, no. The truck clearly had hit points and that last bullet that made it explode didn't hit any particular weak spot, it just happened to drop the hit points to zero. This is the case in pretty much every shooter. Even in Doom the exploding barrels had such a hit point system, except that they had fewer hit points...

After they manage to introduce a proper armor values to every vehicle, I'm willing to accept that Arma cars have better damage system than what we have in Doom...
