Which is a user made mission. And it does alot of really weird things starting with the largest cap zone of any type of king of hill style that ever has existed in game land for any game ever...
For MP the popular style missions are really strange across the board. And they are all made by the fans.. To be frank of all the user made stuff in the earlier Arma's, 3 has the by the least interesting MP user made content.
Only he didn't realize to read the server restart times, or look at the clock for that matter.. since it was late night and barely any people online.
Regardless to say, this player had a very similar name like the Op.
I also find it odd that most popular servers seem very boring at least to me:
Variations of RPG and TDM instead of pure military style combat or more objective based pvp game modes. And when I do join let's say CTI the only 2 populated servers have no 3rd person or some other annoying rule/limitation.
I only really enjoy Invade&annex, but again I spend 80% of time walking/flying to the objective only to find a blob of 15 teammates rushing towards the objective to engage the remaining 1-2 enemies - I mean cmon.
The game has huge potential, but it needs to be polished and most importantly - improved in the way I mentioned above.
I will try to join a clan and see how that changes my experience.
To be honest I experience firefights of 15 to 30 minutes on invade & annex servers all the time. Players complaining about the walking/flying simulator thing are most often those who climb on the highest hill or building just to get shot there or apply other stupid tactics that get them killed within seconds.
Arma 3 is not about racking up insane killcounts or being a one man army. People who aren't patient enough to wait for a chopper to pick them up or expect to win against a much stronger enemy force in a direct firefight should go looking for another game.
Also, this has nothing to do with available time. One hour of Arma 3 can be as entertaining as every other game if you follow its rules.
Many Arma 3 players dislike things like 3rd person because it's unrealistic and takes away the immersion. I for one don't see fatigue as a limitation but as a realistic gameplay mechanic to enforce more teamplay. There is simply no reason to have roles like "Assistant Autorifleman" or "Assistant AT Specialist" if you can carry the ammo/missiles yourself.
Maybe you should play on an invade & annex server with more organisation.
