31st Marine Expeditionary Unit (SOC) [A3][Active members]
III Marine Expeditionary Force
31st Marine Expeditionary Unit

Hello, first of all thanks for taking the time to read through this post. This post will be short and to the point, giving you all the information you would need on the unit. This includes requirements, ways to contact the unit, what we do, etc. If you have any questions, feel free to use the sources provided below and we will try and get to you soon.

What We Do

The 31st MEU tries to maintain a mature, professional, and realistic environment while operating to maintain a higher standard of realism and simulation. With that said, training is done rather regularly with daily operations at around 1900 (7:00PM) Eastern Standard Time (EST). These operations come in the form of Field Training Exercises, or FTXs, with the intent of developing skills in an active wartime environment. Other trainings outside the combat zone are up to the discretion of the Platoon Commander, or other smaller unit leaders. Also, when it comes to operations, due to the fact that we are replicating the USMC infantry we also therefore replicate the scenarios that they would participate in under real life circumstances.

These operations include but are not limited to...
(NOTE: These are all broad categories that allow for a widening arrange of scenarios)
*Counter-Terrorism
*Large Scale Conventional Warfare
*Amphibious Operations
*Coastal Assaults

Training and Requirements

So firstly, lets start with the requirements as the rest of this information is pointless unless you meet the requirements.

- Be at least 16 years of age (If you are of younger age, you're still welcome as long as you're mature),
- Own a copy of ArmA 3,
- Have a working microphone and Teamspeak 3
- Be a team player and able to follow orders and/or chain of command,
- Be willing to dedicate time towards the unit, as the unit shall to you,
- Must be able to make at least one unit event a week and complete the training process in the required time frame,
- Maintain respect for yourself and others at all times.

Now onto our training, training differs from MOS to MOS, so I will try and explain each training as easily as possible.

Infantry/Light Armored Reconnaissance

Infantry trainings start with MCRT (Marine Corps Recruit Training) which covers the basics, and then progresses to SOI (School of Infantry). From there, depending on if you are in a direct combat role (03-- MOS) or a indirect combat role, you will be split into ITB (Infantry Training Battalion) and MCT (Marine Combat Training).
Aviation
Aviation training stems into three different courses. The first course is OCS (Officer Candidate School), which trains you in the conduct and etiquette required by an officer. The second course is TBS (The Basic School) which teaches more strategy and other knowledge which all officers are required to know. The last course is Flight School, where you are taught how to fly your specific aircraft, and other required knowledge for all naval aviators.

How Do I Join?

Joining is very simple. Simply go to our website (posted below) and place in an application. Please do not lie on the application, as we will eventually find out the truths in those lies. Also, make sure to come onto our teamspeak (Posted Below) and talk to any recruiter on the teamspeak. This way we can better answer any questions you have and help you in the application making process.
