Horrible FPS lag in multiplayer, no lag in single
For some dumbass reason, everytime i try to play online, there is horrible FPS. Whenever I try to play single, I get no lag on high settings and even if I do reduce the settings on multiplayer it lags just as much but looks likes crap. It's not my computer because, I can run other games on maxed out settings and have no issues. Is anybody else having this same problem and how can I fix it?

It's serverside. Try another one.

Same problem for me. On med I get 45 fps on single player. In multiplayer, I hang around 10 fps regardless of settings. I don't think it is entierly serverside, perhaps a memory leak or somthing.

why are maps like Wasteland (the BEST maps of the gam,e) so horrible in FPS???

are the Modder soo stupid?

Or will be Modding in Arma 3 only a fake?

Serverside and multiple IA, addons etc.

In the event you do have lag on single or muli read this!

Hello everyone
I keep this brief, I have a decent gaming computer and I can play most games on full graphics but when it comes to arma 3 my fps drops dramatically. However I have found a solution that does not effect graphics, while DRAMATICALLY boosting performance.

Youtube this video:
Arma 3 fps/graphic performance FIX

or use the link:

This little fix does not need to be done every time, but the video says it does.
This fix made my arma 3 go from low graphics and poor fps (arount 10) to Nearly MAX graphics at 40-60 fps.

Hope this helped the arma 3 gamers out there trying to fix there performance.
Cheers everyone.

it just moves the work from the GPU to the CPU

Ok Im playing in a DP wasteland server on my lap top

8gb ram

and Im getting 40-60 fps avg. never lower

Now Ive got a few start up commands like -nologs and -cpucount=4 and Ive also edited my config fles to read maxframesahead= 1

Ingame settings are a mix of very high and disabled. There are multiple web sites with detailed recommendations on these settings. Some are GPU based so depends on your setup.

Unless a setting is above low the CPU will use the onboard gfx to run things. So setting shadows to high is better than low. The GPU kicks in at standard I believe.

Set your view distances to low or at least be realistic.

Is this the discussion where everyone abuses the topic to boast about how good their computer is?

There is that ..but then there is those that list their systems to compare results.

For those who experience huge FPS lag after the release, try playing on servers that only use Stratis island. Altis gives me 10 FPS tops, and in a few mins it drops to 1 fps untill I exit the game.

There seems to be something wrong with the way the Altis is optimized. And as far as I have dug up from the forums, it seems to be affectling mostly 32 bit windows. Anyway, try playing Stratis maps, should run well, if it ran well in Beta.

Cross your fingers for Altis hotfix!! :)

Best Ive managed to get was 30-40 fps. Dipped to aroun 27 at times. Was playable but not ideal.
