Arma 3 screws up my pings

Arma 3 displays a list of servers ussualy most are under 100. Ill attempt to join one and the game will freeze, I start up arma 3 again and every server is 200 ping + (most are 1000+)

Not only that when I go to play dota 2 for example my ping which was at 30-40 on my best server becomes 900+

I proceed to wait a few hours and it goes back to a normal ping but the moment I start up arma 3 and try to join a server the process repeats and I can't game online in ANY game for atleast 3-4 hours.

This problem is new and unique to this game and I have never encountered this before. Ideas?

I give up this game is a waste of ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ time. I am ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ pissed that I wasted so much time trying to fix your piece of ♥♥♥♥ software.

What that link does not mention is another possible solution in Steam settings under In-Game, there is an option to reduce server browser pings per minute.

I added screenshots to my profile to show you guys what I mean, the green pings are before joining a server and the red/orange are after trying to join a server (happens no matter what server)

Sometimes I get as far as loading into the game then it drops me (ussualy a chain link shows up in the bottom corner first)

Other times it just kicks me as soon as I select a server, but no matter what the result is the same.

I almost have the same exact problem. I think mine only sticks to Arma 3, without affecting anything else thankfully.

It's such a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ bizzare thing though, I have no idea what could be causing it.

Okay think its anti virus blocking it. Just realized Symantec is giving me a notification saying it blocked traffic from arma3.exe [didn't notice before since I can't see it while game is open but when minimized the message pops up every time]

disabling it did not solve the issue (I think it still blocks it anyways on or not)

I added it and the folder as exceptions in the firewall but that did not solve the issue. I tried opening up the ports as well. Still no luck. I cannot figure out how to get symantec to stop blocking my game whenever I hit the multiplayer button. Any Help would be appreciated.

Also I do not wish to change anti viruses, I am quite happy with mine, and rarely gives me any issues, but it has saved me a couple times.

Here is a screenshot of my rules as well. Perhaps there is something here causing issue as it takes precedent?

managed to get into a server after disabling a block on my ipv6 ports. will see if this continues next time i try to play. Hopefully this fixed it.
