it is binarized and therefor protected from view/editing, nothing you could do about, really.

is there anyway someone could make one for me or (this may be impossable, i dont know) "un-binarize" it?

it is basically possible, but i wont do it, since it is clearly against the content licensing.
as well as debinarizing mods is against the license and therfor still not really legal.
when you take a mod, debinarize it, change a small aspect, binarize it again and the publish it in your name you are acting illegal and can get you into legal troubles.

Your best bet would be to use photos to make your own model. Getting the photos should be no problem, finding a front, side views that are in scale of each other is a different matter.

oh ok, what i was planing on doing was to make the "attack variant" of the RAH-66 (AH-99). http://www.fas.org/man/dod-101/sys/ac/rah-66--mission-image17.jpg

he could basically take some screenshots, since he wants to rebuild a model that is already in the game.

You know I never thought of that.

and how do i make a picture into a .p3d file?

there comes the tricky part. you have to use 3d modelling software and build a 3d model.

impossabu!

No it would be easier than it sounds.

Go into the game editor
Place the choper on the airfield yourself as the pilot
Go to third person and scroll the camera to the front side and top taking screen shots
Edit the screen shots in the application of your choosing (crop out the extra stuff)

Take them to the modeling application of your choice, Blender is a good free option

Then it is a matter of moving edges and points to get something the same shape as your choper. Not going to lie and say it is quick but with time and some youtube video help you can get it done

I think the hardest part will be creating the skin

Of course you may find a model designer willing to work with you.

If you have skype I can show you how to use blender. I am not expart but I can get you up and running

is there a chance (and i feel bad for asking but...) i could get someone to get or build the basic modle for me?
nmargie21122 Sep 18, 2013 @ 8:40am
That is a tough one

A big part is do you want someone to build it simply so it can be added to the game or are you looking for something you can put your name on and take credit for?

If you are jsut looking to get the chopper into the game you will have a much easier time finding someone to model it.

I would start over on the BI forums, they have a moding section and see if anyone there may help

Look for people you have already made mods for vehicles and pitch the idea to them. I have no idea the amount of work it takes making a model work in Arma.

So I truely couldn't say how tough it will be finding someone

i would just like someone to get the basic AH-99 modle for me, then i can add the things i would like to it. however they would receive half-most of the credit

what if you need the memory points for animations... like for me in Arma 2 i'd have my friend unbinarize it for me so i could use its animation points... becaus making a car in Arma 3 is difficult (because im more on turret systems and such) all i need to do is unbinarize the HEMMIT and see how it was build because i just wanan copy paste its memory points into mine and adjust them... because i have done digging before and trail and error and that takes weeks to months because some are useles and such
