specially that tactical shooter lebel. so if it is not in present day, but in near future, it suddenly becomes tactical shooter? doesn't make sense to me, sorry. you can call red river or brothers in arms tactical shooter. arma 3 is simulation, and that's genre, that can't be changed because it's setting is in near future.
chernarus is fictional too, so now it is not army simulation driven by that logic.
arma 2 was/is epic game.
especially all that the op mentioned :)
Ninjas play free...
BI developer "neokika" on the forum:
"Nop, it's a game, with simulation elements. VBS is a simulator."

ArmA 2 cover:

to me the cover is a lie and i could list several reasons for it, but just take the word of an ArmA developer there, should be enough.
and btw simulation is imitating something that exists, if you create imaginary futuristic stuff (not the case in ArmA 3) you are not simulating anything.
so does GTA.
Cause BI have and will always design their game for coop (theres a million examples but a simple one is A2 grass... then theres crappy character animations and movement which makes pvp difficult, most map designs are in noway catering for pvp etc etc)
And mods/addons are ArmAs saviour but would be nice if it was official so it doesn't fracture the community like mods do.
