ARMA 3 FPS Fix Without Loss In Graphics
Hello everyone
I keep this brief, I have a decent gaming computer and I can play most games on full graphics but when it comes to arma 3 my fps drops dramatically. However I have found a solution that does not effect graphics, while DRAMATICALLY boosting performance.

Youtube this video:
Arma 3 fps/graphic performance FIX

or use the link:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iZTXFvucBe0&feature=player_embedded

This fix made my arma 3 go from low graphics and poor fps (arount 10) to Nearly MAX graphics at 40-60 fps.

Hope this helped the arma 3 gamers out there trying to fix there performance.
Cheers everyone.

It helps some and not others.I tried that about 2-3 days ago and there was no difference for me.

I used this last week and it worked for me.

If it helps or not Please spread this around the forums and everywhere you can. For the most part it seems to work for people and i know there are eager players out there mad at their painfully low FPS. So please spread the word. Cheers

Read the official forums about tweaks for Arma 2 and you would find even more tips for performance improvements. There are more paramters i.e. for the shortcut which will improve the performance.

This works.. Nice and thanks...

thank you i got it working, now i will tell you the results. the first test was a showcase mission, i set the quality to max and got a little frame rate, but after the i turned off shadow the frame rate was still there, just not as bad. i then tried a highly populated wasteland server, i got enough frame rate that it was annoying but still playable, i then turned the quality very low and got the same result. after that i tried to start another wastle land server with a population of 35, i got 2 frames per second, unplyable. next test was a simple coop mission, and with all the quality to max except the shadow it ran pretty well. so it worked, but not in such a ground breaking way like i thought, it seems to work far better with coop then large multiplayer servers like wastelands.

to make a long story short, really the only diffrence is that it ran coop missions way better then before, but made some wasteland servers unplayable.

Made a big difference in ARMA 2 for my laptop that had a 6520G APU, but no difference for my FX-6300, 8GB RAM, 7850 desktop in either game. Also, the shortcut parameters are mostly placebo effects (exthreads, maxmem, maxvram) though some people have had luck with -cpucount=4 for their quad cores, for some reason.

The way it works is decreasing your max frames ahead to 1 puts more stress on your CPU. Your video card only keeps up with one frame so it doesn't get the bottleneck from rendering 1000 frames ahead. Raising it gives your CPU time to calculate anything it needs to regarding objects and effects.

Lowering it helps systems with lower end GPU's and higher end CPU's.

raising it is best if you GPU is more capable than your CPU(the case most of the time) Then you want to increase this in your config file.

I increased mine to 10,000(no effect higher than that) and recieve better framerates. My GPU usage used to be 60 or so % now it's utilizing 90+%. I was able to increase my view distance by 1000 and get a 10 frame preformance boost.
