mod help

i've been looking at some mods and seem interesting. Can anyone explain how i'd use the mods (only in certain servers?) and how to download them on windows 8. thanks

go to armaholic and download the mods for arma 3 and then use Arma 3 Launcher which is a program to run the mods and it will launch the game and your sorted thats the easy way if you don't want the program you could do it the old fachion way and launch the game up and in the main menu tick the mods that way and restart the game.
