List of Fictional and Real Guns in ARMA III?
I suppose the title says it all. Which guns in ARMA III are fictional and which ones are real, if any. Also, if you could tell me which weapons the fictional ones are based on, that'd be wonderfully fantastic!

All weapons in Arma 3 Alpha are real. Its is based on the future but that is only for technoligy not weapons. Even the vehicles in Arma 3 we have today. So everything you see as in vehicle or weaponry is also real in real life. I don't know if they are going to change that as the game progresses towards the full game, but I highly doubt it.

as far as I know, they use concepts and prototypes that are not yet regular used, or failed concepts that will not be produced. (not entirely, but to a certain point). the best example is the Ifrit, wich is the ZIL Punisher.

I still can't find the MX assault rifle series anywhere on google. The opfor Katiba is more widely known as the KH2002.

The game is based in something like 2030's, just thought I'd let you know.

Awesome! I've also been googling the MX series, and apparently, it IS fictional. From what I understand, it is based on the SCAR and ACR weapons systems, and was designed by a US Gun Smithing Company. My souce is the fourth post in this forum.

It seems a lot of what he is saying is true, as I decided to look into it. The CmmG logo on the side of the gun, on the reciever I believe it is called, is actaully the logo of a real company, who's weapons seem to resemble the MX series. These CmmG rifles look reasonable similair to the MX series.

Quoting some online forum post: "The weapon was also designed for BI by an US gunsmithing and machining company specifically for the game, and considering this is 2035, I welcome it."

You are wrong, the things stated above are facts. These weapons were designed for BIS from a real gun producer.

As Heavygunner said, the MX rifle series was designed by CMMG, Inc.
