That's about the only information I can provide that hasn't been suggested a million times.
now that i got that out of the way, answering masterminds qestion, it is because 2 cores never get used, as with all peoples rig who utilizes quad core in this game. if i can disable 2 cores, and oc the ♥♥♥♥ out of those 2, it will probably run much cooler, so therfore i can oc them even more.
i have over 350 hours played, 90% of that was from alpha & beta. i have been here from the start so i know all of the well know tips. so you won't focus on my ingame settings, here they are.
view distance 1750
detail view distance 750
shadow distance 50
shadow detail ultra or off, ultra is the least demanding compared to low/mid/high
texture = very high, ultra has a significant perf hit, all the others make no difference
terrain = low
objects = low
no pip
low particles
low hdr
no AO
AA = off
AF = off
FXAA = off
post process AA = off
bloom and all the other = off

You can also test a bunch of minor optimizations in the dev branch. These optimization typically take a few weeks to show up in the main branch.
one thing of note, and something that could be eliminated as a potential performance hog are my nvidia control panel settings. for ARMA3, everything is set for maximum performance, not quality. no aa/af/ao, no vsync and max pre rendered frames =1.
again, i am not trying to get general tips for better performance because i have stalked these forums from the very beginning of alpha and know about all the stuff people have tried.
i am not tech savy so this is why i asked the question if it is a good idea or not (for this particular game only).
games use 2 or 4 threads the most efficent way.
so i u have quadcore cpu do not enable hyperthreading, it will just slow down the game or no benefit, but more power usage for nothing.
so disable 2 core, overclock the 2 rest and enable hyper threading, u will have more fps cos of higher clocks, and u have same 4 thread which is enough for gaming.or use 3 cores and no hyperthreading, I use 3 cos my cpu doesnt support hyperthread, and my fps is better then using 4 cores.(4*2800 vs 3*3200) i cant overclock my 4 cores more then 2800
try what is better for u 2+hyper or 3 cores no hyper
your video setting it already horribly low, so i don't think there is anything you can do to increase the performance of your rig except to wait for the long awaited performance updates,
the best thing you can do for your rig is to throw in another "gtx 660 2gig" for sli...
how much ram you have in your system?
64 bit games doesnt exist...almost
some more info about 32 and 64 bit games.
most of the games (99%) are 32 bit for a good reason, i know far cry 1, crysis 1 had 64 bit, and now the new battlefield 4 will have 64 bit as well, but thats it i dont know any other game.not to mention for what bf4 need 64 bit lol.

if u read this u will understand why 32-bit is superior to 64-bit, for games
also hardwares are limited by directx api mostly
seeing as how my gpu is only being used about 50%, it would not make sense to get another one. sure, i would be able to turn up some settings and use my gpu to its potential but that doesn't = a fps increase.
i have 12 gb PNY tri channel 1333 ram
