Issue still remains, game shouldn't drop 50% of its FPS because you use a smoke grenade.
Maybe you need to have a look at your rig, not at the game.
Do you have FPS Lock on? I'm saying theres a noticeable large FPS drop when a smoke grenade is used. I never drop under anything noticeable, but if it keep on eye on my FPS unlocked, theres a hugely noticable decrease
Like NathaN, I'm getting ~80 FPS in SP with my current High settings and throwing smoke only gives a drop of ~5 FPS... and to get that I have to have 20+ in view at the same time. I usually lock FPS at 60 Hz so it's never usually noticable.
... and we already know that when it comes to MP that there are so many factors that come into play that limits FPS that you can't pin it on any single factor...
or the light from it.
AI and text popup on screen
the birds, the snakes, the butterflies...
why? because it moves and everytime it moves it needs to tell everyone playing, HEY A SNAKE IS MOVING ACROSS THE STREET
its an object and every object on the map in MP makes FPS drop
DEVS GET RID OF THE THE BIRDS, SNAKES, AND BUTTERFLIES FOR MORE FPS!!!
Not totally true
Ambient Animals in maps are only Client side, Unless they are manually placed by mission creators.
So in the end, Snakes, rabbits, butterflies etc do not sync across clients in MP
