Its not "cancelled". Its been taken down because the multiplayer service runs on gamespy and gamespy is shutting down at the begining of May. Hence why the removal from steam. Go figure.

Hey ♥♥♥♥♥♥. listen, listen good. The server host, yeah they pulled the plug. Go yell at Gamespy that didn't get any of your money for 10+ years. Yeah you can still get arma 2 free. But it wont do you any good once gamespy shuts down.
