I really loved RPG's on my NES, but I so rarely have time to invest into even the flashy multi-hundred hour RPGs of today.
This game cuts a lot of the junk time wasting out, while still retaining the "Old School" RPG goodness.
I liked that I leveled up quickly, and that the random battles stop if you have beaten the specific number needed in an area, makes backtracking alot easier when you don't have all those weak battles.
The replay value is really only depending on your interest in Hard Mode and character builds. If you get into it, you can play it several times, but there are no achievements sadly.
The story is kind of lacking, and I was disappointed in the limited visuals (no animations or sound variations for any attack you choose)
But, for 3 bucks on a 2 pack of games, I got my money out of just this one, and I still have CStW left.
Honestly, I don't know if most people will like this game, it does contain a ton of references to older dialog and content, much of which will be lost on those who have not played the 8-Bit era much. If you want a challenge, and liked RPG's where you could totally screw yourself over with a build, then this is a short masterpiece of that exact system style of RPG's.
