What a wonderful game Bastion is, it takes you to a very unique world (visually gorgeous and weird) with all it's ways, be it the amaizing music, the constant narration, the RPG elements or the story, that evolves like you were un-sheatheing it.
It does have some level of challenge, your skills do matter in this game, but you can perfectly develop them by playing the game, and you can adjust the level of difficulty between missions. The gameplay was good, aim with the mouse and move with WASD, and it was pleasing, you had to know how to defeat certain enemies and how to maximize the power of certain weapons. Good variety of weapons and skills.
The visuals are sharp and well defined, which is good, because it isn't a very demanding game and looks better than other games that need a high end GPU... The style, you can see in pictures or videos, is caracteristic and adds spice to the game, in no way crippling the experience. The only complaint I have, si that this games haves bugs when running at more than 60fps, so you should adjust your screen refresh rate if needed, to play this game properly.
The OST, I already commented, is outsanding. High quality sounds, fitting style for the game, and even some sang pieces. Musically speaking, I found it very pleasing, inventive and therefore, not mainstream, which is a common downside you find can in AAA titles. The sounds are very good also, though not remarkable. The voice acting, mainly the narrating character, Ruck, was very cool and gave an atmosphere to every part of the game.
The lasting appeal may not be that much, as the story is not so long and this is not a very open-world title, but you can revisit places to see if you missed something. But heck, I do want to play it again, it was something I would repeat, and the game does offer new stuff when you complete it. Besides, you do have different endings...
All in all, I recommend this game to anyone bored of the same stuff, but willing to play a hardcore title. I'd give it a 8.5/10
