I just bought Bastion and the game refuses to detect my gamepad. I have a logitech F710. Please help!

Unless your gamepad supports XInput, it will not work. The work around is to either use a supported XInput controller (eg. xbox360 controller) or an emulator, such as x360ce.

I installed the x360ce and it resolved the issue.

x360ce works fine here

the game is programed to only support the xbox360 for windows controler. to use other controlers you need to use a program that binds keyboard keys to the controler keys.

It's not true. My Logitech Gamepad F310 works perfectly with every game that has controller support. Windows has detected it as X360 controller, even if it is not ahahahah XInput is just for games that don't have controller support (i.e. old games).

The Logitech F710 (and F310, F510) gamepad does have an Xinput mode. See that little switch in the picture? (see link below) Flip the switch over to "X" and your F710 (and F310, F510) will now emulate an Xbox360 controller. No third party software is needed. In fact, if you have any third party gamepad software on your PC, disable it or remove it, or it may conflict with your Logitech controller and it's own software.

You can also program the Logitech F series gamepads yourself in "D" mode with Logitech's profiler software, which you can download for free from their website. The Logitech Profiler software lets you map any keyboard key to any button, D-pad, or joystick on the gamepad. With the Logitech profiler software, you can use the F series gamepads with any PC game available. And, if a game supports Xbox360 controllers, just flip that little switch on your gamepad over to "X" (Xinput mode) and you're ready to go.

Note: The Xinput/Direct Input switch for the F310 and the F510 is located on the underside of the gamepad.

XInput doesn't work on Mac's and Mac users are the ones who need 3rd party support the most
