Bastion
*SPOILER* Ending.
Hey ppl, I was just curious as to what others thought of the endings and what they chose? (And why they did.) Alright, so I chose to save Zulf and evacuate, since I think I would rather that happen and live in the moment, since I felt like it could all happen again and that the kid deserves to have a bit of rest after what he has been through, after all he would just go back and see his mom die again and go back to the wall....how exactly is that a happy ending? So, what are your thoughts?

Well, I chose to restart the world as it was before. Honestly I didnt really know which ending to choose. I was to wraped up with what happened between me and Zulf and I was shocked to hear Zia's voice for the first time to care aout the ending. So I pretty much chose did eany meany miny mo and I get the restoration ending.

I liked the restoration ending just because you got to undo all the terrible things that happened. However, I prefered the evacuation ending. If the world is turned back before the calamity, it could just happen again. After the end, a new beginning starts with new adventures. On top of that, Rucks and Zia both wanted to stay on the bastion with Kid and not go back to the way things were.
i choose save zulf and evacuation the first time around. saving zulf is still one of the feelsiest moments in any recent game from the past couple of years i've played.
I think I actually cried a bit inside when I saw zulf dead(ish), so my random emotions took over, I said "Screw this" and grabbed zulf, carrying him through countless arrows. I chose to evacuate, because it would all just happen again.
Like basically everyone else, i saved zulf and evacuated. It is definintly possible it wouldn't happen again (because maybe one of them would still have their memory or something) but i just felt like evacuating was best.
I evacuated because there was no guarantee restoring the world would stop the Calamity. It's a choice between reliving the last hour of the civilized world endlessly, or beginning the world anew.
Saved Zulf and evacuated. When I was given the option of the restoration, I did find myself wondering whether Rucks was just an old(er) version of the kid. Based on the replay, I don't think he is, but that would have been interesting.
Saving Zulf was one of the most powerful moments I've experienced in a videogame
1st playthrough: save Zulf and restored
New Game+ : save Zulf and evacuated

You'll notice that if you restore, the narrator says "See you in the next one..." And when you start the New Game+, he'll also say "See you in the next one..." at the beginning. Pretty neat, huh?
Yeah, if you restore the Calamity happens again, it is heavily hinted in New Game+ (the narrator has a strange sense of deja vu). So evacuation all the way.
Picked restore on my first playthrough though.
ive played through the game three times, chose evacuation twice and restoration once. Howver, I oucldn't bring myself not to save Zulf every time.

Saved Zulf (like everyone else), evacuated because I knew it just happens over and over again (New Game+). I found it by far the happiest choices you could make... but then again, both evacuation and restoration are bittersweet.
But in the Restoration ending credits it shows this so it seems like it could go either way.

I saved Zulf and chose Restoration, I just couldn't bear the thought of everyone being dead and the Kid having to kill all the creatures and Ura. Just that glimmer of hope was worth the shot for me.
