Supergiant games - A one hit wonder?
So I loved Bastion. Great story, fun gameplay. But it was fairly short. Supergiant said no sequel, they want to focus on something new. But a year and a half later, we're left with not even the announcement or hint of a new game. Their website is just "Bastion ported to this, Bastion ported to that, Bastion voiceover pack for some other game."

So will Supergiant end up as a one hit wonder, remembered for Bastion but nothing else? Do you think they are working on something that will blow us away, or are they just sitting around enjoying the profits of Bastion, telling themselves and each other their next big idea will come any day now?

do you have any idea how long it takes to develop a GOOD GAME? we are not talking about rushed games like """"AAA"""" from EA.

Yes, I do. Typically between 2-4 years. And seeing as it's a year and a half, and not a single announcement that they are even working on anything besides ports of Bastion and 'voice packs', it's unlikely we would even see a new game from Supergiant by 2015. At that point, they are more likely to just have gone their separate ways.

Porting games can take over a year, don't underestimate that. And maybe they wanted a bit of relaxation after a stressfull period.

They might just have something going on under the hood that they don't want to make a big hullabaloo about until it's almost done.

I've seen games that aren't mentioned for a matter of years then suddenly are announced. This is a possibility that they will unveil it at something like E3 or some weirdness.

After the release on Steam they have ported Bastion to touch-screen devices, and apparently there is a browser version as well. From Xbox to PC to browser to Mac to iOS, according to Wikipedia. Maybe they're working on a version for Android as well? No wonder they haven't made any announcements regarding a new title seeing as they have been well busy after the initial release on XBLA.
