Whats the point of the fang repeater?
I love this game, and my favorite thing about it is all the cool weapons, and how many different strategies you can create with different combinations of them, without even getting into the extra layer of customization with the forge. And every weapon seems to have its own strengths and weaknesses, which makes it even cooler to find a good combo where one weapon compliments the weaknesses of the other.

But the one weapon I never understood is the fang repeater. Every weapon seems to have its on unique qualities. The breakers bow is weaker than the army carbine, but its arrows can pierce enemies making it better for big groups. The hammer is slow and powerful with a short range, where the pike is weaker and slightly faster with a longer range, but at the same time doesnt have the sweeping strikes of the hammer, only good for one enemy at a time. The machete is the fastest melee weapon, and has the shortest range, but it attacks super fast, and focuses on getting criticals, and even has a throw feature to somewhat make up for the range.

obviously I could go on. But I just could never see the point in the repeater. I mean, it just seems like the slingers pistols outdo it in every way: faster rate of fire, more shots before reload, and you can move around while shooting. I mean I guess the repeater is probably a bit more powerful than the pistols, but having such a slower rate of fire AND being completely vulnerable while shooting seems to completely outweigh that small power advantage. Like I listed above, every other weapon has a set of advantages and disadvantages that make them all good in their own way, but the repeater is the ONE weapon where another weapon really made it feel obsolete.

Is there some advantage or aspect fo the repeater that Im not seeing? because I even saw someone saying they took on and won the strangers dream with 12 idols using the repeater and some other weapon, so there must be some worth to it.

It is devastating. My favourite ranged weapon in my first playthrough.
