Why hasn't there been a sequel to this game?
Seriously?!?!?!?!?!?! If there was a sequel that was the same mechanics with more narration from the narrator, more areas, more creatures, and maybe a handful more weapons, I'd pay 30+ for that! This game was amazing and I tend to forget about it because there's never news on it. But why is there no news on it?!

Transistor looks ok at best to me. I don't care about how that combat is, the art isn't as pretty, there's no kickass narrator. I mean seriously, can any dev actually say whether or not there will ever be another story from this rich universe that is like an untapped gold mine right now? I just want to experience more with bastion and the calamity. The kid would be optimal to explore more with as well.

i feel exactly the same way, this game made me feel a way few games have since i was a child, the narration and dialoge are excelent. I cant believe I waited this long to try it.

This company has another game very good too, Dust: An Elysian Tail. Is incredible, and Kid appears!! :P

The game doesn't need a sequel. The ending was perfect. If you repaired the calamity then there's a chance it might happen again lending to the same exact story, or it might not happen at all and everyone will be fine. Or if you evacuated then all loose ends are tied up and everyone lives on.

The same company also released a game called "transistor" which is pretty much the same type of game

Agreed. I'd love to see one and I haven't even finished Bastion yet.
I generally play Portal/AC/Bioshock/Fable etc type games... and have never played something like Bastion. I'm surprised at how much story/atmosphere it has despite being a 2D indie game.

But the thing is, the story was complete, and perfect, i just want more! I want to explore the world more! I want to experience more of the calamity! I want a whole new storyline to wallow in like a dog in a beautifuly atrocious trash heap of gaming glory, the analogy being i'll not see the light of day for a week or so if they make a sequel and will smell like trash haha, but seriously, I just want more from this

as for Transistor... i've seen some videos and talked to people that got it, its not the same and just isn't nearly as appealing at all :(

The story was complete. There's no point for a sequel.

Ok fine, not a sequel, just more from the Bastion universe.

I agree transistor looks fun and the story is fine but it just doesn't have the feel bastion did. I also think it would be fun to fly the bastion around as a super weapon

What story you want? Job is done, everything is just OK now.
Aquatic Cowboy 5 jun. 2014 às 18:58
the adventures of the kid, the old guy, zia, and zulf as they brave a new world

I tend to agree. Yes, you could simply let the heroes ride off into the sunset as the game does, but I'd like to see what kind of world they find out there. How far did the Calamity reach? Are there other nations out there besides the Ura? Will the Ura leave them alone now or continue to seek revenge? So many questions that could be answered with a sequel.
BrokenSlants 7 jun. 2014 às 10:09
I don't think there should be a direct sequel. Pretty much all the questions of the game have been answered, and simply expanding on the story by saying what happens next using the same set of characters that have already told their stories is somewhat pointless.

At most, perhaps a game that takes place in the same universe generations later, and the consequences of those actions, with some references to Bastion. Something akin to Zelda: A Link Between Worlds, where there's references of a previous game but no set connection, and a game that stands on its own. But I would hate for there to be a Bastion 2 since the first is so complete.
