This is probably a long shot, but is there a chance of Linux support?
I really liked this game as well as shooter and sidescroller (honestly i wasn't crazy about monsters and the racing one) I already have Eden purchased and i was wondering if Linux support could be in the future for pixeljunk games.

Hi kiddykoff,

Thanks for playing the PixelJunk series! It's okay if you're in to some more than others; the series is designed to touch on different types of gameplay/genres.

Well, to be honest with you I think the likelihood that we’re able to port any of the existing PJ games to Linux is slim right now. It isn’t something that we’ll rule out however, as the next PJ game (PixelJunk 1-6) will debut on Steam with the possibility of hitting both Mac & Linux shortly after.

Thanks for the reply, p0rk1ns. It's really great to see developers giving Linux consideration. Even though i have a copy of Windows its hard for me to warrant a purchase for a windows game when i'm never booted into it.

Once again thanks for the reply.

p0rk1ns,

For what it's worth, I'd like to echo kiddykoff's remarks. I bought Racers, Monsters, Eden, and Shooter on PS3, but now I'm basically using Linux for gaming. (It's a lot more viable for gaming now thanks to Steam Linux!)

I just bought Eden on Steam even though you said it's unlikely that it'll be ported to Steam Linux. It was a great game on PS3, and I'd love to play it again here on Steam Linux.

By the way I would also love to buy Shooter (again) if it were ported to Steam Linux.

Thanks for the feedback, Sanserif.

We've got a bunch of devs in the office that use Linux as their gaming PCs, so it's something that comes up here from time to time. Hopefully we'll be able to accomodate everyone!

Would also like to see Linux support if possible

We haven't made any big announcements about this yet, but it's in the works. I've been testing the Linux ver. this week!

After the recent releases of the newer games, is there any movement on this front? I realize the other games were handled by Double Eleven instead of you, but it'd be great if all the games were available on Linux.

While we were originally working on both ports internally, we've passed it on to Double Eleven. So ultimately it's up to their development schedule. They've been pretty fast thus far, so I don't think you'll have to wait too long.
