Why I don't think throwing class would be a good idea:
It would be too similar to ranger and mage.

Nobody wants a throwing class anyway.

It would be useless.
They might add some items someday probably. I would like to play as a throwing class.

Sure, the throwing class seems like an entertaining idea, but it would need a significant change to make it less like a worse version of the ranger class.

Since the devs aren't going to finish the Throwing class, I'd like to think of it as a sideclass. I mean, it would be cool to give the thrower SOME recognition such as a few latergame weapon sets would be nice of them, but not to the point of getting throwers their own celestial pillar.

Way I see it, if the devs want the throwing class to be an actual thing, then sure, go ahead. I won't say no to more content.

However, if they don't plan on finishing it and are just going to leave it as is, then they might as well remove it and change items with "throwing" damage back to "melee" damage.

I'd say the "throwing" damage should be range.

I think they should keep throwing damage as it's own thing or else people would be using beenades left and right in prehardmode

Throwing damage makes no sense honestly. Boomerangs, which are BLATANTLY throwing weapons, are classified as melee. even yoyos, it's called 'throwing a yoyo' yet it is melee as well. There are a ton of 'melee' weapons that you throw. Even the toxic flask, which, is composed of throwing a flask containing toxic gas out, is for some reason classified as magic. The things that do throwing damage now USED to be ranged damage. And that actually did make them marginally useful with endgame ranged gear. As it stands now, they're basically useless in hardmode and up outside of maybe grenades/bouncy grenades.

I'm pretty sure they're intentionally useless in hardmode, using one weapon the entire game can get really boring.

I don't think throwing class is a bad idea, I just think devs haven't done much with it. There are mods that add a ton of content for throwing class which actually makes it fun to use throwing weapons, too bad that isn't in vanilla. I would be much better if more stuff was added for it.

Regarding the throwing class as a general idea... The summoner wasn't a 'class' either for a good many years. It just had a few items scattered things here and there. It was more or less a novelty. At one point summons were even classified as 'magic damage'. Eventually they started adding more and more things including armor sets. So... There's no reason they couldn't do the same thing with throwing.
