NO.
It just starts... like good old games we were used to have.

LAN is available
Online mode (over ESOnline) is also available
LAN over hamachi works as well but sometimes You have to override your IP-Adress.

recently purchased Age of mithology and dont have Online...did not want to be wrong again.
Complete collection is same the old version??,that is to say, AOE||| cd + expasions cd, or this is better o more content and improvements?
know if AOE CC Ubisoft exclusive is redeemable in steam?

aoe III complete collection is like the one you can get on amazon
After purchase on steam I just copied the files in steam directory and it checked them to be 98% identical ... then some files (maybe patches) were loaded and then I could play.
You also get just one cd-key which is for all games (vanilla + 2 addons)
all multiplayer features work (as said above).

Plus this game does not need steam to be active to run - and it is mod-able. I would recommend You to try out the "improvement mod" which really improves...

The one game that you think MS would infect with GFWL they didn't. All the other games that you wished they didn't - they did.

I think the GFWL devs live in the world where the grass is blue, and the sky is green.

I totally agree, glad this one great microsoft game dodged that bullet.

AOM's online is no longer actively supported, so unfortunately that is not available.
I can confirm that AOEIII's online is up and running (since I run it :p )
The complete collection is AOEIII + TWC expansion + TAD expansion. There aren't any additional further changes.
We do not currently offer retail CD key redemptions of AOE3 in Steam.
