I noticed that even with someone's bad connection #2 will have instant response time for unit actions, while #3 never does. I think that's due to how games detect player inputs and stuff. Idk, I forgot the terminology for it.
#3 is a work of art, and is worth the money. It's a different era of combat though, the setting. I'd say get it regardless.
So about your lag, was this vs each other or the AI? I noticed that late game the AI seems to calculate super slow if there's alot of things going on or it doesn't know what to do because it's pathfinding got messed up (like by walls). Vs people i've never seen it go that bad, not even close.
Or I don't know what i'm talking about...
