no this is a more tradtional RTS with resource gathering and unit training

To elaborate, its very different ot total war. Since here you build single units and can make own groups or spam 50 of the same for example. You don't really fight for regions or alike. You just select map, opponents if playing with ai and then your own city/faction and everyone starts with a single building, a town center, on it and build stuff towards killing off each other.
