Help
Re-installed AOE Online with my retail version, When I try and run it Wondows LIVE says my code is registered to another user. In the Windows marketplace the code is still registered to me though?

I would suggest that you register a new GamerTag, one that you do not need to use in the future.
This is what you need to do after creating the new GamerTag:

1. Log into your Games For Windows Marketplace client.
2. Click the Downloads tab.
3. Click the icon for Age of Empires Online.
4. Click View Game Keys.
5. You will see a numerical code under LIVE access code. Enter this code when prompted in-game.
If this doesn’t work, follow steps 6-8:
6. Search for Windows Update from the start bar and click Check for Updates.
7. Run any necessary updates and restart your computer.
8. Run Age of Empires Online again.
More detailed support for this issue can be found here: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/978129

Please let me know if this resolved the issue.

I am confused, the retail version I have purchased is registered to my account. Why does it say it is linked to another profile when I sign in?
P.S. I have run all windows updates and played Dark Souls via my windows LIVE id, even though this was also re-installed.

Are there any other accounts that you might have logged in with in the past?

Could it be that you have made changes to your account recently? I suggest you delete your LIVE profile through the GfWL Client (don't delete your actual account on the website!) and then re-download it.

Just to clarify, you want me to:
1. Login to GfWL Marketplace
2. Navigate to Settings
3. Profile Management - Clear
4. Re-download my profile?

That is one way to do it. You can also delete them from the GfWL interface in-game. You just re-download your profile by logging back in after the deletion.

Okay I have deleted profile in the the AoE game interface and re-found it and then it still says my key is associated to another profile, even though it is listed to me through the GfWL market place?

Just to confirm: This also happens after creating a new GamerTag and using the product key from that profile?

Okay so I fixed this issue, by logging into my girlfriend's XBOX account getting a free copy of AOE and then knicking her key. When I load the game up all my purchases are there.
Random....
