I lost the Windows Live Server?
Had it drop me twice today. Cannot recal it ever happening to me before, but I've been playing it for a while so I'll just say recent memory. Am I to suspect that this happens sometimes? I really just don't ever remember having an issue in the year(s?) I've played it.

Hello FletchWazzle,
What error message do you receive exactly? Are you doing anything in particular when this happens? I suggest that you submit a support ticket for your connectivity issue, as there can be many causes to problems like the one that you are experiencing.
You can find the link here: {LINK REMOVED - Please don't spam, and be wary of scams.}http://bit.ly/UxuQ2a

I thought to do some sort of support ticket thing, but I honestly didn't find it. At least not in the Live bar thing that I saw.

Just make sure to respond to the automatic message (if none of the suggested solutions work for you), once you have submitted your ticket through the link that I provided.

Okay I submitted a ticket as I've been dropped during almost every game that I've played for the past few days. I was just watching a lot of medieval films & shows as I like to do, and this series has always been my complimentary go to gaming companion.

I am only getting dropped by my Windows 8 super desktop, (Had to make another Steam ID after this game became where it is only available in Steam 'yet still brings its GFWL layer') having tried playing co-op with my laptop I was only dropped from my new spankin powerfull desktop still.

I hope help arrives...Okay I have now received my automated response & briefly replied.

Just received a response to my reply to the automated response asking for a reply, stating "This mailbox is not actively monitored." So. This may have been how a problem was solved, but might no longer be the case. Regardless. Why am I being dropped by Live servers?

Can you please give me your ticket number so that I can take a look?

5993. Got another email asking me to type anything that I think would be useful. Still haven't heard a thing about my problem, just write your problem here, & please rewrite your problem there. Whatever I looked through the forum but with how threads are moved and removed until it just says "I like this game" lol.

I responded to your ticket yesterday. Please check your e-mail for my response.
I am not sure what you mean by threads being moved and removed. The threads in the Steam Community forum move on their own, based on recent activity.

I'm sorry, I replied to your email as best I could.

As far as things getting shuffled in your forum, it's a great forum & I've gone there for years.

But as an animated GIF collecting, news gathering, game playing interweb user, who when forced to use email & whatnot does so eventually, but when not in the routine of doing so it is a chore. when not pursuing things from a "signed in perspective" on your forums, things have had a history of moving, I have been involved with many threads where I think I had to sign in to find things as they had been moved and I had apparently not searched other possible places that the thread I was involved in could possibly had been moved to & it is a headache from the outside at times (seeing the forrest for the trees). This issue was compounded by, at least initailly, it was a wise choice to have additional Live IDs for this game, enabling you via trading to store a few extra items. So I'm not even sure that I created my ticket under the ID that I had the issue to begin with.

But why I wasn't able to initate a ticket from game (Got the dang Live bar at the Home button ready), is fail. I thank the lords that you provided me with a link here. If my problem is unique, great. If there is an established set of things that others have run into on Windows 8 that I could look at, that would've been a better link, but because we've gone this route, I have dedicated my effort in this matter to attempting to go the official route, might my time have been better spent in this matter, usually I'd say, but I'm not the sharpest tool in the shed so like a dude at the mall "I'm holding a purse" instead of looking at TVs.

Pagentry is vanity, fluff is waste. when people don't know when to shutup, I say "Love you bye" and hangup the phone.

Well I thought after the debacle of a week ago that maybe my "Diconnected from Live" that had occured previously might be a thing of the past as well, I was wrong. How I can be an hour into a mission before magically getting shafted, I...guess my anger will warm me tonight.

I suggest that you try the solutions offered in my last response to your ticket.

I went through what to me, was a laundry list of BS, that my email suggested I should do. Will my experience benefit, I hope so. I shall try to play it again at some point, but right now, I just want to get past the stupid quantity of decisions that led me here.

1st Ensemble Studios makes great games.

2nd Microsoft buys them & years later has them make a Halo game.

3rd Microsoft closes Ensemble Studios

Fans clamoring for Age Of Empire II with support for widescreen resolution, and persistent cities (as introduced in III), are "treated" to this online only game.

Why would it require me to open ports & BS, is this to remind me that its on a PC, seems redundant. Is it because it creates jobs (yours Garmonbozia81, not that I have any envy, sympathy or loathing for you). As a game player it seems uniquely ignorant, as in, not common for a released title to require fiddling of that nature, this was released as a boxed title as well. Having the cumbersome (and on Steam redundant) Games For Windows Live, implies that the title should have close enough ties to (the company Microsoft) avoid any unpleasentries of this nature.

Sorry just mad that it's 2013 & I've been wishing in one hand & filling the other with dookie, and now one is filthy.

Well I do appear to get dropped less, but I still get dropped by Live servers if I play for very long.

At this point, having the same problems as you, I've just gone back to playing the original Age of Empires which is, suprisingly, just as good.

We are currently experiencing some issues with the game. We are investigating but have not found a solution yet.
