How can I still install this through steam?

I played it a ton before then on steam. 200+ hours. That said it's not in my library.

Same with me. Many hours played before Aug 2013 and it isn't in my library (due to it being F2P no doubt), so I have no way to re-download it.

We're not having trouble redownloading the game through steam, it's NOT AVAILABLE to redownload through steam. I don't WANT to redownload it through the age of empires site. I want to redownload it through steam.

This is simple. Create a shortcut on your desktop for another game, and then edit the properties. Replace the other game's ID with the ID for AoE Online, which is 105430 (thats in the URL of this page). Then launch the shortcut; the files are still in the Steam servers. The game will download, and hey presto, you have AoE Online.

right click on a shortcut on your desktop (or where ever you put them) and click 'properties'
it will have 'URL: steam://rungameid/******'
change the 'steam://rungameid/*****' to 'steam://run/105430/'
when you run that shortcut it will try it install like it would if you were installing from your library.

you can just use one of your other steam games shortcut just change the number

i used my saints row and changed the number :)

Log onto Steam. Now copy steam://run/105430/ and paste it in your web browser's address bar, then press enter. The install prompt should pop.

Please keep in mind that, even if you might be able to still install the game, it has been closed to new players, which means that no new product key should be generated if you have not played previously.
