I see no updates coming in the future, This game has reached EOL.
Hm, I hd hope because the Anniversary Edition of Fable is coming to Steam in September :/

More likely they will ignore current owners Fable 3 and focus on creating an HD Remake of Fable 2, and 3.

Wait - I paid $40-$50 bucks (whatever it was) for this and now I can't play it again? This whole "owning the right to play the game but not the game itself" stuff has to stop. It just completely violates the generally accepted definition of a "purchase". I get it, I don't need it explained to me. It's just wrong. Violates social trust.

The game plays just fine and you get Achivements too, it's "only" the DLCs people can't download anymore, the GFWL-Market was closed and with that the possibility to download the DLCs you have paid for.
Are you sure? My game plays fine with DLCs

When did you install your game? and did you download the DLCs.
Ah, I see. The download doesn't work for you.
I always back the games up I download, so I don''t have to download them again.
Doesn't Steam manage the download?

AFAIK only the basegame, DLCs you get from GFWL, I could be wrong, but where is your DLCs installed and do you have the names for the files?

I have a BIG backlog of games, I bought the game back in 2011 or 2012, but I just started to play it approx 3 weeks ago ;)
I'm on my laptop now. Fable 3 is installed on my desktop PC. I will look it up as soon as I'm home :)

Really hope Lionhead does the right thing and moves this game over to Steamworks. Maybe that'll happen after the Fable Anniversary PC port, who knows.

I looked it up and the DLCs are stored under C:\"Your Username"\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Xlive\DLC.
I also found this: http://fable.wikia.com/wiki/Fable_III_Downloadable_Content
In the link it says that you should activate your DLC-Codes ingame and although the Microsoft-shop doesn't sell them anymore, the keys which were already purchased can still be activated.
I hope that helps :/

So long as you've already purchased the game game the the dlc you CAN still play both the game and the dlc. So if you spent $50 or so on the game plus dlc. don't worry it's still playable even if you hadn't activated it in the past.

Of course the downside is if you haven't purchased the game or the dlc and want to play, your out of luck.

I have activate my DLCs, did that the day I bought the game, and that was done ingame/GFWL, has a few of them not all of them, in that location all downloaded the day I redemmed the keys, non from the playthrough the last 3weeks, but not all of them, and I have finished the game (become king and fought the darkness).

Thank you very much for using your time helping, it's appreciated.
You are welcome :)

After a second play, I think I have all the DLC stuff, it looks like it's integrated in the game now, maybe Steamversion has been secretly updated to include all the DLCs!?

Anyway, the secret prison and the two secret islands are cool :)

Yet again, thank you for taking time to help an gamer in need ;)
Now that would be awesome, but I doubt it ;)
You have a different name, I almost didn't recognize you :P
And again: you're very welcome :D

Ok, sorry, I'm a bit thick in the head. I have the base game on Steam along with 5 DLC's purchased through Steam. At least, I think I purchased them through Steam since all 6 product codes appear in the CD Key dialogue for the game in my library.

I don't have room to install this right now, but are you saying that I should be okay to run the base game and all my DLC?

Thanks! Sorry for the trouble!

If you install all of them (game via steam and DLCs ingame via GFWL), you can of course play them :)

Funny stuff is, I could not install the DLC via GFWL, got a download error everytime I tried, but I got the content somehow along the gameplay, without downloading the DLC from GFWL.
Really? I totally missed that information^^
Even better then, I guess :D

okay
1) GFWL is different to steam in some aspects though im not 100% sure of what they are
2) half life 2 released in 2001 didnt have achivments for ages and now has some (last year i think)
3) the game wont work if you purchased it and didnt play it untill the studios that made the game closed down
4) if you cant play the game and you bought it and launched it before the close (so that you have a cd key) complain to valve
