High ping/ no lag compensation?
so i wanna ask the developers if they are going to introduce lag compensation. Right now i have to aim where the dinos will be rather than where they are

you have to lead your shots on this game unless a dino is comeing right at you
Arcon Aug 20, 2013 @ 7:26pm
so everyone has to lead

No. It is due to lag unfortunatly. Once you get the hang of it, any ping 100 or below isn't very bad.

i got 150ms :-/

That's just the Unreal Engine 3 for you Tribes:Ascend lacked lag compensation, Unreal Tournament 3 did, and just about every other shooter for the PC i'm played on the engine.

Try to match your latency with closer hosted ones. People host their own games so while they might have similar pings, their computer may not be able to handle a server.

There are dedicated servers too, hosted in the US and Europe. Try to find what's best for you.

Hmm, I haven't seen any eastern asia servers running. I have seen some ausie ones though, maybe you could connect to those.

That has NOTHING to do with the game. It has to do with the location of the server you're connecting to. l2computer.

well 500ms is half a second. I play at 400, which is playable. Just bad for PvP. Team Fortress 2 at low 400s ZA to Auss is Do-able, sniper vs sniper just sucks. NS2 300ms sucks as you gets killed around croners running away. So if you live a way away you should get use to it and accept it's limits

300ms sucks in ANY FPS, I can score kills with 400ms lag in NS2 if my aim is on target (your kills just turn up 300ms later). In Orion, however, every shot misses unless you're shooting at a stationary target.

When you play with 200ms+ pings in most competitive game you are ruining the experience for others.
