Calm down?
So, im seeing all the hate threads saying the game is a rerelease. In almost any announcement made about this game, it says it's a re-release, and says all the improvements the made AND That anyone who bought the original is getting it for free.

Instead of going on some wacko ideals-driven witch hunt, why not actually see if the game has been improved, instead of just acting like someone is trying to pull a fast one?

I'm looking into this game to buy, and It would just be awesome if there were some objective reviews of the new updated version.

All the locked threads on the frontpage seem to be from the very same guy that went beserk. Weirdest thing about it was; He didn't even own the game.

Actually my thread was locked immediately, I own the game...played both versions...it's still bad. Also prassel is saying this is a new game and that people who had the old one "get it for free" when in reality it's just a content update with content that was promised to be in the original game in the first place.

It's a money grab, they're trying to wipe their low metacritic score by re-naming the game.

several threads by owners of the game appear to be locked.
and it looks like this guy removed his meta score from what i read on locked topix.

I hope you aren't refering to me Coookie. I just made one thread as a concerned customer. *shrug* I'll have to see how this plays out.. as I did come here to find some info on the game to decide wether to buy it.

If you played/remember Beatdown, then it's laughable to consider Horde to be just as bad. The game is much better than it was. Are there still issues? Maybe, not that I've run into any yet. I've enjoyed the few games of it I've played so far.

I think if you've played beatdown it's laughable to consider this a new game. See this for what it is: an attemt to thwart the low metacritic scores and get some more money before reviewers can catch on and point out that it's the same exact game with a few less bugs and some new models/weapons.

I'd love to know where this notion of it being a new game came from. As far as I know, it's touted as a rerelease and has a new name to go with it. I played a round of Beatdown (2 days ago) before I played Horde and it feels like night and day honestly.

http://steamcharts.com/app/104900 still labeled as dino beatdown.
store page link? dino horde.

he shoulda been up front about his game. it's patched and renamed.
but he had to go around locking threads stating that its a BRAND NEW GAME.

seems sketchy..

We are comfortable enough and dubbing this game as a full sequel to Dino Horde. Not only does it add more than most sequels do to their games but is ALSO the game we wished we could have originally released and that is why you guys get it for free. Because it's what you deserve and it's what we always wanted you to play and hopefully we can all forget about Dino Beatdown after a few more rounds and some of the incredible free dlc coming your way over the Summer.

Check metacritic. Then look at posts by prassel where he points out in all caps that "people who owned dino beatdown get it for free". (why would they even need to state that if they weren't trying to make it sound like a new game...no other update had that statement attached to it...)

Funny because over a year ago many of these features were said to be added in dino beatdown "shortly". This is not a sequel, this not a "re-release", it's a content update that finally brings the updates that were supposed to be in the original game over 1 year later and it has a new name to try and wipe the 35 metacritic score.

Also Mr. Prassel, I don't know if you remember me but I owned Dino Beatdown on day 1, and if you look at the earliest forum posts it might jog your memory that I was one of the few who stood by the devs when you kept pushing back the release date for each patch, and kept making excuses as to why the game was still broken. Yes this game finally works and fixed many of the issues of the original release, but the problem is you're re-naming it when clearly this is simply the content update that was promised when the game first came out.

Oh no, he's reinforcing the fact that people who bought Beatdown get Horde. What a jerk, where's my pitchfork?
David Prassel  [developer] Apr 16, 2013 @ 12:18pm
It has everything mentioned and plenty of other things never announced or originally planned ranging from game modes, weapons, dinosaurs, steamworks features, achievement amounts, vehicle types and plenty of other aspects.

So not only do we fufill the promise on delivering all of that content (free upgrade for original owners) but we do even better than that.

Not to mention all the free DLC coming over the summer which will be a lot faster paced given that this game had a much cleaner release.

And of course the metacritic review was wiped. It's a completely different game than the one that score is tied to and once the reviews start coming in this week and next week the new metacritic appid will be listed.

i don't understand how you get something, when a name changed.
isn't that two different scenarios?

you can either obtain something new,
or obtain something that replaced something.

in this case it has only replaced something.

he should stop telling people they are getting something new.
if battlefield 3 decided to make a huge patch, and rename it battlefield 4..
how do you think that would go over with the public?
hay guiz you got bf4 free!!!!!
this is like some 2nd grade trickery.

just for the record man.
pretty sure you're the only one who's renamed a game and said the old metacritic score is now invalid. it's just unheard of, period. nobody does that.

TONS of games have major patches.
you know what they didn't do? rename their game.
