This is the tale of peter and the wolf, big companies are been abusing DMCA for so long, that when an actual copyright infringement happens, people don't believe it.

Everybody only ever hears about DMCA being a bad thing for their favorite youtube channels. But people don't realise that the DMCA exists for a very good reason. Millions of dollars went into developing those assets.

looks legit. maybe they counted on getting under the radar with it. what were they thinking? also screens posted by devs on facebook ar emisleading as they show totally diffrent orion gun that hardly resemble original and ingame screens are just... wow. like the same thing.

To those who want a refund, you can get one through steam directly.

Follow the instructions here: https://support.steampowered.com/kb_article.php?ref=6695-QIKM-7966

Hope this helps!

what does refund have to do with this thread?
Laurel Jun 28, 2016 @ 5:39pm
Some people don't want to support theft. A refund will remove the game from your account and get your money back.

Pretty much this. Stories like these prove that copyright laws need to exist (if not in their current broken state), but of course people either don't believe it or are unsympathetic simply because of all the stories of abuse.

Eh, I would have several questions on the issue ranging from if the assests are public or Activision owned to who in Trek actually is in charge of said assests in their game (companies have been screwed by hire or comissioned workers cutting corners before). What is really sad about this issue is that companies couldn't handle this privately before escalating it to such a level and essentially using the mouth foaming mobs of the internet that don't care who they hurt or for what reason as long as they're hurting someone.
