To play this game with Windows 8

Install the game on Steam. Make a sims3 account at thesims3.com and link it to origin. Redeem your CD key on the sims3 site, this will add sims medieval to your origin account. Open your origin and find the sims medieval game, right click it and click repair game. After it repairs and updates, start your game from Origin and you can play.

The game is only installed once to your hard drive, even though you use Origin to repair files and play the game but you install the game with Steam.

I don't know if this works with Windows 8.1, but I'm sure it does, and it definitely works with standard windows 8.

I think the auto copy paste from the CD-KEY within steam wont copy direct into the sims3.com registration window, it moves"-" along and breaks the key, need to write it out.. i think, i had the same thing, but easy fix once noticed.

Or instead of using Origin you could just go download The Sims Medieval Ultimate Fix from games4theworld and drag all the files in the "crack" folder to C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\The Sims Medieval\Game\Bin ... Figured this one out on my own. ;-;

No the sims medieval ultimate fix did not allow me to play the game on windows 8, and i tried more than 3 times even reinstalling the game a few times. No solution I saw on google or this forum worked for windows 8 until I figured out the method that I listed.

Please do not mislead people by trying to give "easier" solutions. The only reason I posted this was cause I had exhausted all other resources and try every "fix" people wrote on google, but nothing actually worked for windows 8 until I tried this method. This solution will work for windows 8 as long as all steps all followed correcrtly.

There are plenty of other posts in this forum that mention the "fix" you give, and they are filled with people saying how it doesn't work for them. So go ahead and tell them that the solution worked for you and let them know how lucky you are.

Well it worked for me on the first try and I'm on Windows 8.1 so yeah. Not trying to give false information, just trying to give a solution for Steam and see if it works for others as it did me.Sorry for ever trying to be nice, helpful, etc. I'll be off, peace ~
