go to "C:\Program Files(x86)\Steam\SteamApps\Common\Call of duty Modern Warfare 2\Players\" and open "config_mp.cfg", then find "seta cg_chatHeight", it should be set to "0", if it is, change it to "4" (this command sets how height the chat is), if it's different from "0", delete the file "config_mp.cfg" (this will reset all the settings but it shoud fix the problem)

so change it to a number between "1" and "8", "4" is default

Its really hard to find mw2 2009 fixes because it always shows the new 22 one.

This game was already old and abandoned in 2014. Now it's three times as old, it's incredible that people still play it ;) glad my 10 years ago me fixed your issues, I didn't even remember this post
