Timeshift is an interesting game. The mechanic of controlling the flow of time offers a rather unique and interesting perspective on the first person shooter, and this is where timeshift shines. An enemy is firing at me. I can a) shoot him in the face, b) stop time, steal his gun and unfreeze time to watch him flail in confusion before bashing him, or c) slow time, dodge his bullets matrix-style and headshot him and his eight teammates before they can call reinforcements. It's good that this freedom of choice is around, as the plot leaves something to be desired. The story is rather bland and not very fleshed out, the characters are dry and sometimes annoying, and the AI can be nothing short of stupid at times. Regardless, the game is fun. There are frustrating parts, there are slow parts, but overall it remains varied and intersting enough to make it an enjoyable experience.
