How do i record myself whilst painting?

There's a "record script" option, klick on that and you can start recording your progress. However this will not result in a video but in a text file that you can replay by loading it up in ArtRage. To get a video out of it you'll need to use fraps or similar programs.

You still can, there's just an extra step. Instead of ArtRage just outputting a video file for you, you just have to record the script playing itself back. Not difficult, and if anything it's good to have that extra control over the video rather than letting a tool that isn't designed to process video create one with little/no options.

To my knowledge, this is how it works in all of these digital art suites.

Or you use something like Camtasia Studio, that way you have total control over your video.
