Bone: The Great Cow Race is the followup to the Telltale game Bone: Out From Boneville. The game can be played as a stand alone story without any prior knowledge of the Bone comic strip, or the pevious episode, but background knowledge is of course only beneficial. As with the previous iteration, there is alcohol and tobacco use, as well as some cartoonish slapstick humor. There are no bonus features, so the story plays out in a very linear manner. Overall, the story is more humorous than the previous episode, and about double the length as well. If you enjoyed the first episode, you owe it to yourself to try this one too.

I also should add that the first iteration is not as good as the second (not implying it is bad). The first iteration introduces the player to the characters of Bone, and fleshes them out through mundane tasks, animating their attitudes and personality. The second iteration is more concentrated on an actual story.

I've hardly read Bone to begin with, but they seem to use a bit of characters they don't fully explain in the game. I figured that the writers wanted to use those characters as subtle references to the books without forcing every character to be part of the stories. I would recommend the game to anyone who enjoys quirky and humorous point & click adventures, and I can only imagine that fans of the books would enjoy it more. If you have any questions about the characters, I can give you my perspective on them. Hope that helps.
